President & CEO
Glenn was the Executive Vice President of Bento Sushi since its incorporation and of Bento Nouveau Ltd. since 2002. He also spent a year in Japan where he cultivated a deeper understanding of sushi and sushi culture, and his expertise has proven to be instrumental to the success of Bento Sushi. Glenn was appointed President in 2014, and in 2016 became President and CEO.
Keith is the newest member of the Bento executive team, joining in May 2018. Keith has over 15 years of experience in executive finance positions in both private equity and public companies. Keith is designated as a CPA and CA with extensive expertise in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, accounting and tax. Prior to 2016, Keith was a part-time instructor for over 10 years at the University of Toronto teaching auditing and internal controls.
Senior Vice President , Factory, Warehouse, I.T. & QA Operations
Doug has extensive experience in the quick service sushi business alongwith many years of hands on operational & management experience in every aspect of the business, from warehouse and fleet management to factory, on-site and retail operations. Many of Bento’s current key accounts, such as Longo's and Sobeys, were originally developed by Doug over eighteen years ago.
Senior Vice President, On-site and Retail Operations
Prior to joining Bento, David worked at Boston Pizza, in both training and management roles. He then joined Bento Sushi in 2009 as Ontario Operations Manager, successfully managing multiple departments including Factory, Warehouse, Fleet, Order Desk, Procurement and Supply Chain. In 2016, David was promoted to his current role as Senior Vice President On-site and Retail Operations, managing the aggressively growing US based operations.
Director, Human Resources
Cherry has 15+ years of extensive experience in the Human Resources field, delivering integrated solutions to companies to help build and sustain a high performance culture and engaged workforce. In 2015, she joined Bento Sushi in the role of Human Resources Manager; in 2018, she was promoted to her current role as Director of Human Resources, where she provides both functional and strategic Human Resources expertise throughout Bento Sushi’s operations in Canada and the USA.
Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain
Takako joined Bento Sushi back in 2001 as the company’s first Area Manager, overseeing the on-site and retail operations. As the company grew, Takako was promoted to General Manager, Ontario Operations, in 2007, responsible for 220 stores across Ontario. In 2010, she became Bento’s Purchasing Director, a new role which allowed her to use her experience in field management and product development to stream-line the sourcing and purchasing of the highest quality ingredients. In 2014, Takako was promoted to her current role as Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain, currently overseeing the Canadian and US supply chain.
Vice President, Sales and Account Management
In 2012, Andrew joined Bento Sushi as Assistant Brand Manager, and subsequently moved into the role of Key Account Manager in 2013. In 2015, he took on the role of Director of Sales & Marketing. In 2016, Andrew was promoted to the role of Senior Director of Sales & Marketing, where he oversaw the management of Bento’s major Canadian customer relationships at the senior level, corporate marketing strategies, and the product development process. In 2018, he was promoted to his current role as Vice President, Sales and Account Management.
Vice President, Marketing
Erica has more than 25 years experience in the food industry in the US and Canada. She rejoined Bento Sushi in July 2017 as Senior Director of Marketing to lead the expansion in the US and growth in Canada and was recently promoted to Vice President, Marketing. She is responsible for leading the development of marketing and business strategy for all channels of business. Prior to 2017, she held the Director of Marketing role at Extreme Pita, a Canadian-based fast-food chain part of the MTY Group.
Senior Director of Operations
Prior to joining Bento, Sam Jin was a professional engineer in China. After moving to Canada, Sam Jin joined Bento Sushi as a factory employee in 2000. Sam Jin has been promoted to Factory Manager, Area Supervisor, Area Manager and Director of Operations in the last 20 years. He has been successfully managing different departments on sales, profit and food safety. In 2019, Sam Jin was promoted to his current role as Senior Director of Operations to look after Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
