About the Bento Foundation:

Founded in 2015, the Bento Foundation is dedicated to driving meaningful change by creating a healthier planet and fostering inclusive communities. With an annual allocation of up to $100,000, the Foundation supports a diverse range of initiatives both within the company and in the communities it serves.

Our Mission:

At the heart of the Bento Foundation is a commitment to giving back. We focus on strategic initiatives, advocacy, and partnerships that promote social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.

Key Focus Areas:

1) Community Engagement and Support

• Empowering employees and franchisees to make a difference through educational scholarships, grants for community projects, and support for local sports, arts, dance, and music programs.
• Enhancing community well-being by making bi-annual donations to food banks to combat food insecurity.

2) Environmental Sustainability

• Funding projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and protecting biodiversity.
• Collaborating with eco-conscious organizations to drive sustainability-focused programs.

3) Disaster Relief

• Providing emergency aid and resources to communities impacted by natural disasters and crises.

Impact Measurement & Transparency:

To ensure accountability and continuous improvement, we will provide transparent reporting on our programs. After a period of inactivity, the foundation is being revitalized in 2025. Moving forward, we will provide annual reports to stakeholders, outlining spend, progress, challenges, and future strategies.

Community-Driven Leadership:

The Foundation is managed by a volunteer-based committee of Bento teammates, led by a Chair and Co-Chair. While the committee plays a vital advisory role, all funding decisions align with the company’s broader mission and values, with final approvals from the CEO and President.

Through these efforts, the Bento Foundation strives to create a lasting positive impact on both people and the planet.
