HANDCRAFTED SUSHI. READY TO ROLL.

The time is ripe for pomegranates
‘The Jewel of Winter’ is now in season. So we’re celebrating the return of the pomegranate with some fun facts. Did you know that ‘pomegranate’ comes from the Latin for apple (pomum) and seeded (granatus)? You do now. On the subject of history, King Tut and other wealthy Egyptians were buried with pomegranates because they represented the idea of rebirth. Not coincidently, every pomegranate is jam packed with 700 – 800 seed casings called ‘arlis’. Unlike many other fruits, pomegranates stop ripening once picked, but they do become more flavourful afterward. It’s a good thing picking them stops the ripening process, because overripe pomegranates actually explode on purpose to spread their seeds over a large area. Duck!
Looking to enjoy some delicious pomegranate flavour without the tedious work of getting those seeds out or having to wear a raincoat? We have you covered. Check out our NEW Pomegranate Glazed Rainbow Roll which is drizzled with – you guessed it – a Pomegranate Glaze. Only available for a very limited time so try it while you can.
