Ingredients are our biggest investment

One of our key considerations at Bento is the long-term sustainability of our business, our community and our environment. In this regard there may be no one more integral to the continuing success of that vision than our Purchasing Director: Takako.

Born and raised in Japan, she came to Canada and started with Bento in 1999. Takako has been immersed in the Bento culture of sustainability since her first day.  She’s able to use her vast experience to streamline the sourcing and purchasing of the highest quality, most sustainable ingredients available.  She’s effectively responsible for ensuring that all of the food we prepare meets our incredibly high standards. And she’s really good at it, too.

So the next time you’re enjoying the delicious ingredients in your Bento sushi, make sure to think of Takako, and the important work she does.  Because she thinks of all of us and the world we live in every day when she comes to work.
